He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, John T. J. Schou Sr. and Pauline Reisa Phillips Schou; his wife Linda Downing Schou; his daughter Lisa Schou Harold; his grandchildren, Sadie Grace Harold and Baylor Teaghe Harold of Sugar Hill, NH.; and his siblings, John T. J. Schou II, Peg Schou Pinkham, Marji Schou Fellows, Ruth Schou Knapp, Jeff Richard Schou and Heather Schou Gaynor. He was also cherished by several nieces and nephews.
In Lieu of flowers the family requests donations to be made to the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust. "a haven for elephant orphans, black rhinos and other animals.".
