He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Nels Nelson and Georgia Nelson (Austin); his wife Mary Nelson (Grainey); and his children, Gary Nelson (Debbie) of Rochester, NH, Michael Nelson (Judy) of Newport, NH, Susan Reed (Joe) of Deerfield, NH, John Nelson (Barbara) of Springvale, ME, Brian Nelson of Moultonborough, NH, Sandra Johnson (Bill) of Northwood, NH and James. He was also cherished by many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.
