She was predeceased by: her parents, Vernon Childs and Edith Childs; her sister Nancy Childs Wood; and her child Sherill. She is survived by: her husband James C. Sanderson (Jim); her children, Jeff Sanderson (Andréa) of Alexandria and Virginia; her grandsons, Benjamin, Aidan and Nicholas; her son Ian Sanderson (Anne) of Lincoln; her grandchildren, John, Margaret, Paige and James; her children, Richard R. S. Smith (Savannah), Hadley Smith (Cameron) and Jennison Smith Kops (Greg); her great grandchildren, Oliver Smith and Charlie Kops; and her stepsons, Herbert "Skip", Peter, Jeffrey, James and John.
