He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Lear and Ella Lear (Schnair); his brother Charles Edwin Lear, Jr.; and his wife Jean. He is survived by: his grandchildren, Charles E. Lear II, Courtney Samuelu (Eric), Caroline Lear, Cathleen Lear and Christina Lear; and also, Richard Lear of Alexandria and Thomas Lear of Colorado Springs.
