He was predeceased by: his parents, Ezra Howard and Irene Howard (Pond); his siblings, Robert Howard, Perry Howard and Lorraine Boardman; and his parents-in-law, Marion Coolidge and LeRoy Coolidge.
He is survived by: his wife Cynthia Howard (Coolidge); his children, Jeffrey Surrell, Phillip Howard, Jr. (Mare) and Christine Cheney; his sister Virginia "Jennie" Ingalls; his brother-in-law Robert Ingalls; his nieces, Whitney and Olivia Skillen; his friends, Richard Skillen and Charlie Bruce; and his pets, Jake, Prinze, Bandit and Tiga. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, great-grandchildren.
