He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Schmitt and Priscilla Lavigne; his wife Judy Schmitt (Bourgoine); his stepmother Louise Schmitt; and his sister Judy Johnson.
He is survived by: his children, Kim Baker (Bill), Michael Schmitt (Gail), Kelly Jarvis (Carl) and Richard Schmitt; his sisters, Joan Morey (Don) and Carol Bostwick (Robert); and his pet Matty. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren; many great grandchildren.
