He is survived by: his former wife Deborah Carr; his wife Deborah Lyon; and his children, William Lyon III, Leona Derouen, Richard Lyon, Craig Lyon and Melissa Momaney. He is also survived by five siblings, many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
