Mathews (Thompson); his son Douglas Mathews (Charlene); his grandchildren, Kyle Mathews and Bryanna Mathews; and his siblings, Phillip Mathews (Cynthia), Alva Pittsley, Orin Pittsley, Ruth Racette (Bob) and Rosella Boyce (Ronnie). He was also cherished by many nieces and nephews.
