He was predeceased by: his parents, Gertrude Landry Hawkes and Robert Clifford Hawkes; and his siblings, Jeffrey Hawkes, Gary Hawkes, Richard Lavender, Linda Foote, Melody Benson, Rosalie Davison, Joanne Parenteau, Richard Stacy and Brian Knox.

He is survived by: his son John Dahood (Ann); his grandchildren, Ashley, Kyle, Breanna, Nicholas, Natasha, Bruce Hawks (Barbara), Marissa, Austin, Hunter and Brody; his great grandchildren, Kiley, Johnathan, Vera and Sophia; his siblings, Russell Hawkes (Lori Gallien, Jane), Starr Hawkes, Cheryl Stacy, Judy Phelps (Charles, Suzanne Ramos), Tammie Cusumano (Daniel, Bonnie Ramos) and Robert Hawkes; and his siblings-in-law, Sandra Lavender and James Benson.
