With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Herbert R. Lippold Jr. of Atkinson, New Hampshire, born in Lawrence, Massachusetts, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. Herbert left this world on March 31, 2025 at the age of 98, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

In the soft embrace of remembrance, we recall the profound impact Herbert had on those he encountered along his journey. Though Herbert may have slipped beyond the veil of mortality, his essence lingers like a faint fragrance in the air, a lingering reminder of the beauty and complexity of the human experience.

He is survived by: his wife Dorothy I. Lippold (Mills); and his children, Randy H. Lippold (Claudia) of Naches, WA, Richard M. Lippold (Mary) of Seattle, WA, Rodney M. Lippold of Atkinson and Dawn I. Johnson (Garrick) of Bedford, NH. He is also survived by ten grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and many cousins.

A funeral service was held on Sunday, April 6th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Atkinson Congregational Church (101 Main St, Atkinson, NH 03811).

In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial donations be made to: Atkinson Elder Services, 4 Main St. Atkinson or to Atkinson Congregational Church, 101 Main St., Atkinson.

“Captain Mike Florence wrote :My sincere condolences to the Lipold family. I had the pleasure of meeting Herb on Big Island Pond last year when I was running my vintage steam boat. Herb asked me to blow the steam whistle. In return, Herb saluted me and he had a big smile on his face…..I’ll rember that for the rest of my life.”
