He was predeceased by: his wife Bernice E Smith (Thumm); his parents, Charles Smith and Sarah Smith (Howarth); and his brother James Smith. He is survived by: his daughters, Lesley (Richard Hodgman) of Longmont, CO., Susan (Jack Fuller) of Litchfield, NH and Karen Hajjar of North Chelmsford; his grandchildren, Kristin (Jeff Davenport), Michael Hodgman, Andrea (Christopher Hovious), Laura (Stephen Johnson), Samantha Higgins and Alison Hajjar; his great grandchild Elizabeth Hovious; and his sister Mary Foley. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
