He was predeceased by: his parents, Dr. George V Coleman and Anna Coleman (Burns). He is survived by: his wife Sandra; and his siblings, Margaret, Constance and George. He is also survived by three nephews and five nieces.
In 1962, the East Greenwich Jr. Chamber of Commerce chose him as 'Man of the Year' for "outstanding community service through loyal and unselfish efforts resulting in lasting contributions to community and nation".
