He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold F. Brown and Ethelyn M. Brown; and his wife Elaine Brown (Vaillant). He is survived by: his sister Dr. Joyce Brown of Worcester, MA; his daughter Chantelle Friedman; his son-in-law Jonathan; and his grandson Adam of Yorktown, VA..

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the First Baptist Church in Wolfeboro, or the Charles E. Brown Endowed Scholarship Fund at Plymouth State University.

“I will always have fond memories of Charles Brown (charlie) He was a wonderful man...so full of knowledge and interesting stories. He showed me how to find water using a Y shaped stick. He caught fireflies and put them in a jar with holes in the lid so i could watch them during the night when i visited their home. He kept records of the weather, local events etc. and i hope some of what he kept notes on may one day be read by those who loved him. God Bless his soul and those of wife Elaine.”
