He is survived by: his parents, William Fortier and Mary Donahue; his wife Virginia Fortier (Lord); and his grandchildren, Allyson Slater (Fortier), Elizabeth Botsford (Fortier), Jennifer Lavallee (Crittenden), Michael Fortier, Colleen Barry of Ipswich, John Davis of Boston, Kathleen Boudreau (Crittenden) and Christopher Davis of Methuen. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
