He was predeceased by: his parents, Gail Shay and Vera Shay (Harless); and his brother-in-law Royce Bellows. He is survived by: his wife Marilyn of York; his sons, Jerry Shay (Renee) of Lincoln, NE and Steve Shay (Julie) of Glendale, California; his grandchildren, Erin Gropp (Scott) of Fort Moore, Sarah Shay of Lincoln and Thomas "T. C." Shay of Glendale, California; his great grandchildren, Jax, Amelia and Ava Gropp of Fort Moore, Georgia.; and his sisters, Gloria Bellows of York and Judy Eret (Frank) of Seward, NE. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
