He was predeceased by: his parents, Clifford L. Bowman and Bertha O. Bowman (Boldt); and his siblings-in-law, Sarah Smith, James Watson and Faye Lickliter.

He is survived by: his wife Donna Rae Smith of York; his children, Michael Bowman (Judy) of Crawford, NE, Terri Gibbs (Jim) of Lincoln and Cheryl Brandon (Steve) of Lincoln; his grandchildren, Jeffrey Bowman (Mike), Matthew Bowman (Amber), Langdon Bowman (Aime), Jaime Gibbs (Michael Choate), Holly Gibbs and Baylor Brandon; his great grandchildren, Treavar, Koby, Reagan, Keslee and Kyrie; his sister Velda Watson of Lincoln; and his brothers-in-law, Lloyd Smith of Phoenix, AZ, Bob Smith (Sheila) of Lincoln, NE and George Lickliter of Seward, NE..
