He was predeceased by: his parents, Ruth Lucille Heffelfinger (Bloodgood) and Robert Heffelfinger; his siblings, Douglas Heffelfinger, Richard Heffelfinger, Robert (Lyla Heffelfinger), James (Sandra Heffelfinger), Patricia (John Weigang) and Shirley (Edward Craren); his brothers-in-law, Ed Smallman and Roger Johnson; and his nephew Roger Johnson, Jr..
He is survived by: his wife Barbara Joan Barkmeier of York, Nebraska; his children, Gregg Heffelfinger (Theresa) of Jacksonville, Brad Heffelfinger (Andrea) of Papillion, Nebraska and Lynne Filipi (Brent) of Lincoln, Nebraska; his grandchildren, Christopher, Nicholas, Andrew, Michael, Jacob Heffelfinger, Dylan Filipi, Megan Heffelfinger and Taylah Filipi; his sister Sandra Smallman; and his sisters-in-law, Margaret Heffelfinger, Jeanie Heffelfinger and Suzanne Johnson.
Memorials in lieu of flowers are suggested to the Exeter Fire & Rescue or the St. Stephen Catholic Church.
