Effie Nienhueser Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Effie Nienhueser of York, Nebraska, who passed away on January 20, 2025 at the age of 90. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Effie Nienhueser to pay them a last tribute.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Cheney Shelton and Effie Shelton (Rose); her former husband Virgil Thorne; her daughter Sally; her close friend Herb Mallory; and her siblings, Rosie Holmes and Bill Shelton.
She is survived by: her husband Ken Nienhueser of York; her son Ron Thorne (Jacquelyn) of Dunkirk, IN; her grandchildren, Sarah Bennett of Lincoln, NE, Doug Drake of Fairmont, NE and Matt Drake of Whitesburg, KY; and her brother Ernie Shelton of York. She is also survived by six great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandson.
Visitation was held on Friday, January 24th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Metz Mortuary (109 S Lincoln Ave, York, NE 68467). A funeral service was held on Saturday, January 25th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the St. John's Lutheran Church (1011 Rd U, Waco, NE 68460).
