He is survived by: his wife Miriam; his children, Tammy Hecox of Cedar Rapids, Dan Hecox of York, Angela Hecox (Chris Korte) of Beatrice and Scott Hecox (Sarah) of Gretna; his grandchildren, Lake of Gretna and Kemper of Gretna; his sister Julie Strother of Omaha; and his siblings-in-law, Judith Dye (Len Paplauskas) of Cheshire, CT and Bryan Jones (Kathy) of Fairplay, CO. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and other relatives.
