He was predeceased by: his wife Darlene Irene Brown; his parents, George Gowery and Sarah Leota Gowery; his siblings, Joyce Asmussen and Harley Gowery; and his grandson Tyrone Gowery.
He is survived by: his children, Randy (Lisa Gowery) and Kim (Alan Rainbolt). He is also survived by five grandchildren all from Texas, and thirteen great-grandchildren.
