It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Marie Watson of Wymore, Nebraska, born in Hanover, Kansas, who passed away on July 8, 2021, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Willard Packard and Grace Packard (Whitsel); her husband Walter Watson; her son-in-law David Husted; her siblings, Elizabeth, Norma Jean, Wally and George; her niece Judy McKenzie; her nephew Don Leggett; her great-nephew Zachary McKenzie; and her brother-in-law Dennis Thummel.
She is survived by: her children, Shirley Husted of Alton, IL, Jim Watson of Florida, Elizabeth Garst (Patrick) of Rockport, MO, Melissa Merriett (Byron) of Tarkio, MO, Sandra Watson and Tyrone of Randolph, IA; her sister Shirley Thummel; and her niece Graceann Norton. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews; and a host of extended family and friends.
A memorial has been established to the Beatrice Community Hospital Foundation and the Wymore Legion Auxiliary with the funeral home in charge.
