We are sad to announce that on January 13, 2025 we had to say goodbye to Jan Carter of Wood River, Nebraska. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Everett Shiers and Flossie Shiers (Shaner); and her husband Don of Wood River. She is survived by: her sons, Doug Carter (Cindy), Greg Carter (Michele) and Michael Carter (Tammy); and her grandchildren, Arianne Carter, Alexis Haffner (Caleb), Braden Carter, Reece Carter, Kylee Gaston (Christopher), Lyric Carter, Samantha Wagner Martinez (Mike), Austin Smith, Ivan Smith, Ian Smith and Alissa Smith.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 25th 2025 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at the Alda United Methodist Church (202 E Pine St, Alda, NE 68810). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 25th 2025 at 11:30 AM at the Wood River Cemetery (7501 S Burwick Rd, Wood River, NE 68883). A burial will be held on Saturday, January 25th 2025 at the same location.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are suggested to United Methodist Church or the Wood River Cemetery Association.
