She was predeceased by: her parents, Earl Carstens and Lois Carstens (Schmidt); her parents-in-law, August and Irene Leisy; her niece Angela Von Rein; her sister-in-law Jean (Walter Sehnert); and her friend Ruth Mandel.
She is survived by: her daughter Brenda (Craig Gerwick); her grandchildren, Sami and Amanda Gerwick Yasminah Gerwick; her son Steve (Pam Leisy); her grandchildren, Brian Leisy Eric and Kaleigh Leisy; and her sister Carolyn K. Bryceson of Loveland, CO. She is also survived by Nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, April 23rd 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Thursday, April 24th 2025 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at the Christ Lutheran Church (517 8th St N, Wisner, NE 68791). A funeral service was held on Thursday, April 24th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the same location.
