He was predeceased by: his parents, Leon Wanek and Lillian Wanek (Vesely); his daughter Leslie Sgaglione; and his sister Lila Klasek (Chuck). He is survived by: his wife Christine Lind (Weisenburger); his children, Lisa Scarcelli (Perry) of Washington State, Donald L. V. Wanek (Sarah) of Bend and Kevin Wanek of Kramer, Nebraska; his son-in-law Dr. Nick Sgaglione of Old Brookville; his aunt Chloe Mundil of Wilber, Nebraska; and his siblings-in-law, Dr. K. Bruce Lancaster and Becky Turnmire (Terry) of Idaho Falls, Idaho.. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren.
