He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry F. Burger and Grace Burger (Heller); his wife Lois Jean Burger; and his brother Jim Burger. He is survived by: his children, Karen Burger of Wilber and Keith Burger of Beatrice; his grandchildren, Garrett, Shawn, Trenton (Erica) and Colton Burger; his great grandchild Emersyn; his sister Mary Ann George (Steve) of Omaha; and his siblings-in-law, Helen Burger of Wilber and Wayne Trauernicht (Dorothy) of Beatrice. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
A memorial has been established to St. Paul's (Soap Creek) Lutheran Church and the Clatonia Fire Department .
