He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Kotas and Marie Kotas (Novy); his parents-in-law, Martin and Lorna Bartels; his sisters, Norma Sysel and Darlene Kasl; his brothers-in-law, Joie Sysel and Richard Stehlik; and his nephew Gaylen Sysel.
He is survived by: his wife Linda; his sons, Greg Kotas (Amy) of Loup City and Darin Kotas (Cindy) of Western; his grandchildren, Kelsey Ziebart (Tate), Michelle, Katelyn, Kristin, Megan, Amber Kotas, Jakob Piontkowski, April Rademacher and Abbie Obermiller; his sisters, Shirley Znamenacek and Marlene Stehlik; and his sisters-in-law, Ardell Endorf (Richard), Diane Krupicka (Alan) and Arlene Filipi (Charlie).
