With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Thomas Laney of West Point, Nebraska, born in Omaha, Nebraska, who passed away on September 11, 2023 at the age of 42. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Thomas Laney to pay them a last tribute.

He was predeceased by: his grandfather Carl Bengston; and his uncle Colin Kuntz. He is survived by: his parents, Richard Laney and Cindy Dillender (Laney) of Oakland, NE; his stepfather Chas Dillender; his half-siblings, Zach Laney, Liz, Mary Ann and Anna; his grandmother Elizabeth Bengston; and his close friend Jake Loftis (Tom). He is also survived by Many aunts, uncles, cousins.

Memorials may be directed to the Oakland-Craig Booster Club.

“On Monday, I was just asking my wife if she has heard from Tom as i wanted to reach out to him and make amends. We had a little quarrel and quit speaking a few years back. Last i heard he was fighting covid at FRHS in 2020. It saddens me that we found out he passed on the same day we were thinking of him. I give my condolences to his family and pray for quick healing. I know he went to heaven and is watching over us all and he was always trying to be a good friend. Sincerely, Christopher Moore”
