He is survived by: his daughters, Kimberly Ann (Ryan Shockley) and Sara Kay (Booker Boyer); his grandchildren, Rhett, Edwina Shockley, Nattellia and Josephine Boyer; and his siblings, Gary Merritt (Deanna), Roger Merritt (Trudy), Chris Lunkwitz (Donnie) and Sherry Carr (David). He is also survived by numerous nephews, nieces, other family members and many friends.
A memorial has been established in his memory.
