She was predeceased by: her parents, Bernard Gilroy and Anna Gilroy (Pfiefer); and her son Dennis Murphy. She is survived by: her brothers, Larry Gilroy (Joy), Tim Gilroy (Barb) and Jim Gilroy (Christy); her husband Richard J. Murphy; her daughter Michele "Shelly"; her son-in-law Ken Richards; her sons, Mike Murphy (Kami) and Jerry Murphy (Jennifer Daly); and her family, Kegan Murphy, Brody, Sophie Murphy and Mickena Richards. She is also survived by her mother's family having a daughter and three sons.

Rather than sending flowers, the family requests a donation be made to the Make-A-Wish Nebraska, or the Waverly Community Foundation.
