He was predeceased by: his parents, John W. Claussen and Adele Claussen (Loeding); his siblings, Detlef (Norma), Harvey (Betty Claussen-Skalberg), John D. (Ardis), Martin (Harold Melvin), Janice (Marian), Helmut Huttman (Ruby), Dale Hammer (Paul) and Karen (Shirley Poppe); his brother-in-law Jim Long; and his parents-in-law, Earl and Dorothy Cox.
He is survived by: his wife Kathy Claussen of Wausa; his children, Cheryl Dawson (Tim) of Wausa, Steve Claussen (Jill) of Wausa and Susie Brunckhorst (Kent) of Seward, NE; his grandchildren, Christopher Dawson of Doniphan, NE, Andrew Dawson (Carrie) of Wausa, Anthony Claussen of Magnet, Tiffany Nohr (Matt) of Crofton, Laura Hauger (LaVerne) of Wausa and Marcus Claussen (Cameron) of Crofton; his siblings, Dianne Fleming (Eldon) of Norfolk, Velda Long of Norfolk and Doug Claussen (Karen) of Wausa; his siblings-in-law, Joanne Claussen of Norfolk and Thomas Cox of Colorado; and his pet Joey. He is also survived by 15 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Sunday, December 1st 2024 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Brockhaus Funeral Home - Wausa (102 Washington St, Wausa, NE 68786). A memorial service was held on Monday, December 2nd 2024 at 10:30 AM at the Thabor Lutheran Church (300 E Norris Street, Wausa, NE 68786).
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Magnet Cemetery or Thabor Tots Daycare.
