He was predeceased by: his siblings, Earl, Harold, Walter, Oscar, Virgil, Robert and Marge Benson; and his children, Steven, Calvin and Sandra Hankins.
He is survived by: his daughters, Linda Sloan (Mike, Paris, Tenn), Cynthia Huggins (Terry, Elicott, Colo), Eva Schaff (Mike, Brule, Nebr) and Kathy Haxton (Rod, Scott City); and his stepchildren, Marvin Hutsell and Betty Courtney (Mike). He is also survived by Numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great, great grandchildren.
