She was predeceased by: her parents, Leo Peters and Ferne Peters (Dimmitt); her husband John F. Shanahan; her siblings, Leo Floyd Peters and Marjorie Ecklund; and her sons-in-law, Brandon Bigelow and Leon McConnell.
She is survived by: her children, Margaret Cherovsky (Bob), Pat Hutchinson, Susan Bigelow (Dave), Tim Shanahan (Barb) and Allan Shanahan; and her grandchildren, Kurt Cherovsky (Trina), Heidi Nadrchal, Kellye LaSorsa (Joe), Benjamin Shanahan, Mallory Toney (Asa) and Will Shanahan (Suzanne). She is also survived by 8 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Friday, February 21st 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Pruss-Nabity Funeral Home (911 N Linden St, Wahoo, NE 68066). A celebration of life was held on Saturday, February 22nd 2025 at 11:00 AM at the First United Methodist Church (714 N Beech St, Wahoo, NE 68066).
