He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Joseph Houfek, Jr. and Hazel Houfek (Person); his wife Donna Lou Anderson; his sons, Leigh Houfek (Julie Thompson) of Lincoln, Keith Houfek (Cynthia) of Roca and Kenneth Houfek of Wahoo; his grandson Kevin Houfek of Firth; his great grandchild Boede Houfek of Firth; and his sisters, Dorothy Peterson of Wahoo and Alice Chadwick.
