He was predeceased by: his parents, Preston Flick and Luella Flick (Lashbrook); his son Dennis; and his granddaughter Angel. He is survived by: his wife Lucille Lottes; his children, Debra Thompson (Dave), Pam Kaliff, Jenny Potter (Gary) and David Flick; his grandchildren, Jeremy Kaliff, Danielle Pedersen, Dr. Melody Zipay (Jeremy), Lincoln, Charlie, Katie Darling (Chad), Grace, Addy, Hayleigh, Izzy, Easton, Stephannie Maca (Andy), Averie, Brody, Collin, Jordon Huber (Matt), Skylar, Rory, Toby, Delaney, Sawyer, Bellamy, Nicole Trautman (Nathan), Fayte, Bash, Archer, Alex Potter (Delilah), Alayna, Raylin and Tex Flick; and his brother-in-law Helmuth Stahr.
