He was predeceased by: his parents, Dr. Louis Ekeler and Mary Ekeler; and his brother Bill. He is survived by: his wife Jan; his children, Amy (Nikole), Mark (Jennifer) and Chris; his grandchildren, Madison, Emerson, Aiden, Hunter, Kegan, Grace and Tenley; and his siblings, Bob (Deanna), Jack (Judy), Carol Kirby (Dan), Steve and Jim (Janelle). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be given to the Fremont Ice Association.
