She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Joseph George and Mary Elizabeth Engel (Boltz); her husband Curtis "Cork" Hoover Young; her sons, Mike Young (Sheila) and Mark Young of Valentine; her grandchildren, Katie Foster (Tim), Lydia, Mary Ingrid, Josie of Canyon, Texas and Chris Young of Bozeman, Montana; her great grandchildren, Jaime Eggert (Max), Ella, Iyla of Valentine, Caitlin Young of Valentine and Collier Reagle of Valentine; and her sisters, Joyce Carr, Jo Reagan of Valentine and Patty Schubauer (Dave) of Blackhawk, SD. She was also cherished by several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made in Mary's name to the Sandhills Area Foundation.
