She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Elmer Fernen and Margaret Fernen (Mayfield); her husband George Shelbourn; her children, Vicky, Cindy, Jerry and Diane; and her brothers, Larry and Jim Fernen. She was also cherished by 13 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren: along with many extended family members and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the family.
