He was predeceased by: his parents, Jesus Barrera and Virginia Brings; his wife Beverly Running Bird-Barrera; his stepchildren, Tanya, Dustin and Sarah Sharp Butte; and his brother James Barrera.
He is survived by: his sisters, Sylvia Barrera, Moran of White River, SD and Mary Garza-Barrera; his former wife Jacqueline Arkeketa; his daughters, Antoinette Barrera, Shirley Barrera-Coley of Anadarko, Oklahoma., Gloria Barrera, Yolanda Barrera, Andrea Barrera and Consuela Barrera-Roe; his niece Iva Roan Eagle; and his stepdaughters, Harvilynn Sharp Butte and Nancy Sharp Butte. He is also survived by his family and friends.
