He was predeceased by: his father Samuel; his wife Joanne Erlewine; his children, Valerie Jean and Sam; and his siblings, Rose, Jennie, Roma, Loraine, Bill and John.
He is survived by: his son Samuel Eugene; his grandchildren, Carissa Oligmueller (Andy), Cari Brodersen (Nick) of Tekamah, Joanna Clark (Justin) of Alma, NE, Samantha Babcock (Travis) of Colorado and Jacob Nelsen (Trista) of Colorado, J. C; and his son-in-law John Nelsen of Alma. He is also survived by 12 great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
