He was predeceased by: his parents, Horace Thompson and Elsie Thompson (McDaniel); his wife Helen; his son Randy; and his siblings, Melvin "Tommy", Harold, Robert, Donald "Cork", Ronald "Babe", Gerald "Babe", Bessie, Wilma, Irma and Elizabeth.
He is survived by: his sons, David and Dave Thompson of Tecumseh; his grandchild Jonathan Thompson; his great grandchildren, Sylas, Liam and Thaddeus; and his sister-in-law Norma Thompson of Pawnee City. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
