She was predeceased by: her parents, Joy Rakes and Cassel Rakes (Rawlings); her husband Jay; her sons, Ron Hemmer and Dan Hemmer; and her siblings, Dale Rakes (Lou) and Dorothy Gess (Ellsworth).
She is survived by: her children, Chuck Hemmer of Lincoln, Susan Kerner (Alan) of Tecumseh and Peggy Bohling of Lincoln; and her siblings, Merle Rakes (Muriel) of Nebraska City and Linda Wademan (Fred) of Nebraska City. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren.
Memorials in lieu of flowers may go to the Lincoln's City Mission for children's clothing.
