He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert Clyde (Bert) and Laura Velma Farwell (Pelton); his siblings, Horace Farwell (Leola), Lavinna Thiemann (Fred), Margaret Korber (Leon), Laura Meier (Lawrence), Jennie Boehmer (Lyle), Alberta Koester (Howard) and Ida Kanel (John); his grandson Brent Neal Gyhra; and his great grandchild Sebastian Michael Jerrick.

He is survived by: his wife Kay Farwell (Parli); his children, Scott Farwell (Carol) of DuBois, Michael Farwell (Heather) of DuBois and Lori Gyhra (Dennis) of Pawnee City; his grandchildren, Kyla Jerrick (RJ) of Oman, Aubrey Hinrichsen (Zac) of Lincoln, Macey Gyhra of Omaha, Alex and Jett Farwell of DuBois; his great grandchildren, Porter and Louis Jerrick of Omaha; and his brothers, Dean Farwell (Loree) of Seneca, KS and Richard Farwell (Doris) of DuBois. He is also survived by many other relatives and friends.

Memorials may be given to the United Methodist Church, Pawnee City, or to the Pawnee City High School Speech and One Act Department.
