He was predeceased by: his parents, Orville Burgess and Ethel Burgess (Wolfe); his son Bobby Joe Burgess; and his siblings, William Burgess and Norma Jean Burgess.
He is survived by: his children, Donald L. Burgess Jr. (Amy) of DuBois, NE, Kimberly (Arlin Beethe) of Elk Creek, NE and Gary Ehmen (Mary) of Lansing, MI; and his grandchildren, Derek Burgess (Kris), Brooke Walbridge (Derek), Danielle Berke (Blake), Cole Beethe (Caitlin Peterson), Lance Beethe (Lyndsay), Spence Beethe (Ashley), Erin Vock (Tyler), Michael and Brittney Ehmen. He is also survived by 6 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
