She was predeceased by: her parents, John Bruns and Anna Bruns (Weber); her husband Dwight Peterson; her brothers, Ernest (Delores), Maynard (Geraldine) and Calvin Bruns (Harriet); and her brothers-in-law, Paul Aden, Melvin Peterson, Robert Peterson (Viola) and Kenneth Peterson.

She is survived by: her daughters, Kay Rakes (Mike) of Lincoln and Karrie Beach (Doug) of Syracuse; her great grandchildren, Jason Ashlyn (Gina), Braedyn, Kingstyn Rakes of Lincoln, John (Whitney), Jack Rakes of Avoca, Johanna Rakes, Mike, MJ Smith of Nebraska City, Ryan Annalynn (Ashley), Aliyah, Aizley Beach of Palmyra, Lindsey Leo (Craig), Natalie Chase of Auburn, Abby Weddingfeld (Matt) of Syracuse, Darin Brooks (Julie) of Syracuse, Hallee Beach of Syracuse and Braxton Beach of Lincoln; her sister Helen Aden of Syracuse; and her sister-in-law Ruth Peterson of Nebraska City. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends.
