We are sad to announce that on January 4, 2025, at the age of 79, Elmer Elliott Henderson in Syracuse, Nebraska passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Oscar E. Henderson and Sylvia L. Henderson (Witherow); his wife Sandy; and his siblings, Vicki Avery, Mary Lee, Elma Bates, Sarah Jones, Raymond Henderson and George Henderson.
He is survived by: his former wife Catherine Sandra VanderVeen; his daughter Patricia Chaney (Paul) of Nebr; his great grandchildren, Brittany Kurtzer (Jordan), Dustin Chaney (McKenzie), Dalton Chaney (Kiya), Hali Kurtzer, Dawson Chaney, Danielle Perez, Scoutt Chaney, Haisley Chaney, LaKeen Chaney and Tucker Chaney; and his siblings, Evelyn McSharry of Omaha, NE, LeRoy Henderson (Debra) of Corning, IA, Joe Henderson of Athens, IA, John Henderson (Cathy) of Nehawka, NE, Paulette Henderson of Murray, NE and Teresa Henderson of Nebr.
Visitation was held on Thursday, January 9th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Gude Mortuary (403 S 9th St, Nebraska City, NE 68410). A celebration of life was held on Friday, January 10th 2025 at 4:00 PM at the Nehawka Community Building (217 Sherman Ave, Nehawka, NE 68413). A graveside service was held on Thursday, January 16th 2025 at 2:30 PM at the Omaha National Cemetery (14250 Schram Rd, Omaha, NE 68138).
