He was predeceased by: his parents, George Rader and Clara Rader (Wickencamp); his siblings, Harvey, Art, Ernest, Alfred, Raymond and Dorothy Esslinger; and his granddaughter Larissa Gullion.

He is survived by: his wife Connie J. Leibhart of Sumner; his children, Nancy (Terry Gullion) of Lexington and Bryce (Karla Rader) of Cozad; his grandchildren, Stacy Baker (Bryan) of Waverly, Lindsey Gullion (Cory Mattley) of Lincoln and Josh Rader of Houston, Texas; his great grandchildren, Carter, Callen, Miles, Mason, Rilynd, Avery and MiCayla; his sister Irene Knappert of Arapahoe; and his sisters-in-law, Patsy Rader of Sumner and Melba Rader of Fort Morgan, Colorado.. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

Memorials are suggested to the Grace Lutheran Church in Sumner or the Sumner Rescue Unit.
