He was predeceased by: his parents, Hedwig Friedel (Steinhauser) and John Friedel; and his siblings, Fred Friedel, Lawrence Friedel, Kathleen Hamik (Friedel) and Loretta Schmit (Friedel).
He is survived by: his wife Barbara Friedel (Flannigan); his children, Tim Friedel (Janice) of Kearney, Sue Maxson (Byron) of Kearney, Lea Jane Friedel of Kearney and Marcee Johnson (Tom) of Norfolk; his sisters, Eileen Moss of Stuart, Dorothy Flannigan (Dan) of Elkhorn and Anita Shald of Yakima, WA.; and his grandchildren, Jamie Bentz (Friedel), Timothy Friedel, Dustin Maxson, Jared Maxson, Kylee Johnson, Derek Johnson and Skylar Johnson. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, and six great grandchildren.
In Lieu of Flowers the family requests memorials to St. Boniface Catholic Church or The Team Jack Foundation.
