He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur Eckert and Nellie Eckert; and his daughter Melissa. He is survived by: his daughters, Karla Smith of Aubrey, TX and Cindy Nyberg (Tracy) of Stromsburg; and his brother Arthur Eckert (Gloria) of Bellflower, CA. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Monday, March 31st 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Evangelical Free Church (101 W 9th St, Stromsburg, NE 68666). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, April 1st 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Tuesday, April 1st 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Stromsburg Cemetery (1412 Co Rd 126, Stromsburg, NE 68666).
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Stromsburg Senior Center, the Stromsburg American Legion Post or family choice.
