He was predeceased by: his wife Donna Beth Saathoff (Bartels); his son Paul Saathoff; and his grandson Luke Saathoff. He is survived by: his children, Kathy Heise (Ted) and Steve Saathoff (Wendy); his daughter-in-law Laurie Saathoff; his grandchildren, Julie Saathoff, Andy Saathoff (Kharissa), Jake Saathoff (McKenzie), Tessa Smith (Richard), Stephanie Saathoff, Aaron Robinson, Rob Heise (Claudia) and Michael Heise (Jola); his great grandchildren, Braely, Luke, Sawyer, Briggs, Brock, Maelyn, Terryn Saathoff, Jalen Smith, Eliot, Poppy Heise, Otis and Vesa Heise; and his sister Joann Phillips. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established to Immanuel Lutheran Church of rural Sterling.
