He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Kuester and Ida Kuester (Renner); and his wife LaVonne "Bonnie" Froehlich. He is survived by: his siblings, Orvall, Dennis, Volanda, Fern, Imogene and Lois; his children, David Kuester (Lorraine Arnold), Kevin (Julie Kuester) and Karla Carson of Kansas City, MO; his grandchildren, Ellie (Scott Burns), Michael (Alicia Kuester), Kaycee Carson and Kelsey Carson; his stepgrandsons, Matt Arnold and Brian Arnold; his great grandchildren, Sophia Burns, Amelia, Hudson and Maizey Kuester; his siblings-in-law, Vi Froehlich, Weldon Marotz and Robert Wolverton; and also, Terry Wittgow, Orvall Kuester, Jr., Doug Kuester, Roger Kuester, Russell Kuester, Bill Watts, Chuck Folken, Arddie Marotz and Mike Marotz. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
